Standing up for animal rights should be financially rewarded
The society we live in does not reward responsible
behavior (towards animals).
Responsible behavior is when a person voluntarily attempts
to prevent or solve problems for animals, which is within
this person's capabilities and for which he/she is taking
certain risks. It is a given fact that it is easy enough
for us to assume a low profile and dismiss our responsibilities
in case of wrong doings.
We would like to see farmers dismiss the commercial
approach of factory farming and opt for a more animal
worthy way of keeping animals. Breeders should be financially
rewarded for balancing animal reproduction by supplying
only on (verifiable) request.
People who opt for a worthy approach to animals should
be rewarded instead of paying a price. It would be best
to tax heavily all farm management that exploits animals
and to stimulate ecological farming by limited taxation.
This would be a way of stimulating positive behavior.
We feel that it is essential to put an end to the
import and export of animals and animal food products. The best thing
for our country would be to switch to ecological farm
management and concentrate only on the domestic market
in order to resist the temptation of overproduction.
